Never fear, I'm back and I'm trying something different.
Up till now, I have been focusing on colour removal - damn you green!! - which is still an element but it's time to tackle this from a different angle.
Welcome, Bleach London shampoo and conditioner in Rose!
The product description specifically states it is for covering unwanted green tones, as well as helping with upkeep of dyed pink hair. I have absolutely no problem with my hair turning pink, so let's give this a go!
As always this is my hair before:
The green is light, and it is concentrated in the roots and ends. Let's see if we can finally get rid of it once and for all! It doesn't photo well but I swear, it is prominent in real life!
What you'll need:
- Bleach London Rose shampoo and conditioner (£6 each from most retailers - I got mine on 2 for £9 at superdrug!)
- Gloves - not strictly needed as this isn't a direct dye so shouldn't involve too much staining, but I will be using them.
And honestly, that is it! The process is super easy, wet hair and squeeze excess moisture out, apply shampoo thoroughly and massage throughout (If you've got dry shampoo or styling products in, I'd shampoo it with a normal shampoo first) making sure that you've covered all patches. Bleach recommends leaving in 5-10 minutes, but I saw at least one review that stated to leave half an hour - so that is what I did. I'd rather leave something on too long and end up with pinker than anticipated than wash out too soon and see no difference! I only left the conditioner on for 15 minutes, the shampoo deposits the most colour (or at least it did with Smoky shampoo by Bleach - a story for another day)
Results:
It worked brilliantly. It shifted the majority of the green , apart from in the very roots, and very ends at the back. I knew I was almost done, so I repeated the process a couple of days later, and Voila:
After my second dye, the green is just gone. Under flash, my hair looks quite pink / purple which personally I love, but in more normal lighting, im almost blonde and the green is vamoose.
The process was incredibly easy, the shampoo and conditioner does not feel damaging at all, and the results are gorgeous. Obviously, if your hair turning pink is a fear for you this might not be your best option but Bleach London have made a life long fan.
The only question now is, what colour should I go next?
