Hi.
This is me. Writing an actul review for a real product you can buy on the shelves right now. Fulfilling this blogs purpose.
But first, to pick up where we left off. After all the palava with my hair over the last few months, I really needed a change. And boy oh boy did Sarah (Sarah_lovetea of Style Sixteen in Stevenage) deliver.
I was , and still am completely in love. The length is right that I can play with it, it uses far less dye and the over processed ends of my hair that kept going dodgy colours are gone. Looking at this photo brings me so much joy! The pink has definitiely faded sinceand my hair still requires colour maintenance, and that is where this blog comes in.
I wanted something to give a bit of a boost to the white blonde tones in my hair. So that is when I bought the I Heart Revolution rainbow shot in Silver Angel.
This product costs £3 from Makeup Revolution's website, and is around the same price from superdrug. I bought mine from superdrug, while topping up on makeup essentials!
Now this is a Temporary (1-3 washes, super low commitment) dye, more like a toner. I applied it to wet hair, and its had a really shampoo-y consticency - I feel like I had to put loads on! On the bottle, its tells you not to shampoo and condition your hair and just to use this product, but I had so much dry shampoo in my hair I was practically a judge and that didn't feel like that was a fair test of the product, so I did shampoo with a colour safe shampoo first. I also didn't use gloves with this product as it didn't seem necassary!
This tiny bottle is really decieving - honestly there is so much in this tiny bottle.
Now when I first put it on, and left it for 10 minutes I was a little bit panicky. My experience with silvers and purples is that they turn green, and the fear of doing that to my hair once again was enough to give me the jitters. I was very unsure on the prospect of not conditioning my hair also.
Before: Unwashed birds nest. After : Silky smooth, and a touch cooler.
But my mind was changed when I washed it out - my hair felt incredible (I did put a little bit of Herbal Essences no split end cream on the very tips, but even the roots felt incredible) and I was NOT green! Now the difference isnt astounding - but that isn't the purpose of this kind of dye anyway and I will definitely try other colours! Off of the results themselves, I would't recommend this specific colour apart from using it as a purple shampoo to brighten up blondes, but I've got my eye on a pink to try next.
If anyone else has tried this product, or is reading this, or exists, please feel free to comment below.
